• FDA recall classifications: Class I (serious health consequences or death), Class II (temporary or reversible effects), Class III (not likely to cause harm).

Class I (94 events)

FDA defines a Class I recall as a situation in which a reasonable probability that use of or exposure to the product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death (FDA definitions).

Class II (127 events)

FDA defines a Class II recall as a situation in which use of or exposure to the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, or the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote (FDA definitions).

Class III (19 events)

FDA defines a Class III recall as a situation in which use of or exposure to the product is not likely to cause adverse health consequences (FDA definitions).
