Is it recalled?
Search every recall on file by product, brand, lot code, UPC, or vehicle.
Type at least two characters. Results appear as you type; the 8,736-recall index loads the first time you search.
What this searches
- The index holds 8,736 recalls as of : 3,899 FDA food enforcement events, 875 USDA-FSIS meat and poultry recalls and public health alerts, 952 CPSC consumer product recalls, 1,926 NHTSA vehicle recall campaigns, and 1,084 FDA company recall announcements.
- Coverage: every FDA, USDA-FSIS, CPSC, and NHTSA recall from the last 24 months, every Class I food recall back to 2012 (FDA) and 2014 (USDA-FSIS), and FDA company recall announcements since October 19, 2017. It is rebuilt every night from the official feeds.
- It searches the product descriptions, lot codes and UPCs the agencies publish, the full text of USDA-FSIS notices (including EST. numbers), CPSC product and retailer names, and NHTSA makes, models and model years.
Search tips
- Lot code or UPC: type just the digits. Spaces and dashes are ignored, so
0 41220 12345and041220-12345find the same thing. - Meat and poultry: the EST. number inside the USDA mark of inspection works,
for example
EST. 2311orP-2311. To see which plant a number belongs to, use the establishment lookup. - Store brands: recalls are filed under the maker's name, so search the product
too, for example
great value green beans, or open the Kirkland, Great Value, or Trader Joe's history. - Vehicles: make, model and year, for example
2022 civic. A campaign covering your model does not mean it covers your car; the VIN decides.
If you find a match
Open the recall and compare the lot codes, best-by dates, and UPCs on the official notice with the package in your hand. If they match, stop using the product and follow the notice's instructions: usually return it to the store for a refund or throw it away. The what to do with a recalled product guide covers refunds, reporting an illness, and what the recall classes mean.
